Tasks

Technology & Ideal Candidate:

• Hands-on experience in DevOps engineering with RHEL/Linux, JBoss, Apache Web Server, Oracle SQL, Bash, and Ansible.

• Ability to design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines across provisioning to production.

• Experience with troubleshooting, incident response, RCA, and performance analysis of live systems.

• 3 years of experience in production-grade DevOps environments.

Mission:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will ensure application reliability, operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with developers, QA, Product Owners, DBAs, Network, Security, and SRE.


Your Day to Day:

Application Reliability & Troubleshooting

• Perform detailed incident investigations using logs, metrics, traces, runtime diagnostics, and performance indicators to quickly identify and isolate faults.

• Optimize, tune, and troubleshoot the application across Test, Acceptance, and Production, ensuring stable and predictable behavior under varying load conditions

• Execute root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability, reduce recurring issues, and increase service resilience.

• Monitor and contribute to improving SLO, availability, capacity, performance, and operational KPIs, leveraging SRE reliability frameworks.

• Escalate complex issues with structured diagnostics, logs, RCA summaries, and actionable recommendations

Infrastructure, Web Servers & Load Balancing

• Configure, harden, and maintain web servers (JBoss, Apache) and supporting components such as NGINX, ensuring alignment with performance, security, and operational standards.

• Support and refine Oracle related configurations, contributing to performance, stability, and optimal integration within the application ecosystem.

• Contribute to service reliability by validating end to end flow across infrastructure layers (network, proxy, application, database).

Automation & CI/CD

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows using Azure DevOps, Ansible, and Bash/Python to streamline deployments, configuration updates, and routine operational tasks.

• Stabilize and enhance CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable build, test, and deployment processes with proper governance, automated quality checks, and consistent standards across all environments.

• Identify and automate manual activities, reducing operational overhead and ensuring consistent, standardized processes throughout the application lifecycle.

Observability, Monitoring & Dashboards

• Maintain and extend the observability ecosystem by ensuring full coverage of logs, metrics, alerts, health checks, traces, and custom application insights.

• Build and refine dashboards, monitoring pipelines, and alert rules to provide real time visibility into system performance, capacity, availability, and error trends.

• Drive proactive monitoring by identifying patterns, detecting anomalies early, and improving the alerting signal to noise ratio.

Environment & Platform Operations

• Manage and validate non production and production environments, ensuring configuration consistency, readiness, and adherence to deployment standards.

• Perform OS patching, maintenance, and security hardening, ensuring systems meet compliance and security baselines.

• Maintain accurate and up to date runbooks, technical documentation, and operational procedures to support knowledge continuity and operational maturity.

Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business partners to ensure seamless integration and operational alignment across all application components.

• Maintain and update ServiceNow tickets, ensuring clear documentation, prioritization, traceability, and correct escalation.

• Actively support Scrum delivery by contributing to user stories, Sprint activities, and cross functional ceremonies.

• Promote best practices, share knowledge, support onboarding, and mentor newer colleagues to build chapter-wide capability.

Expectations

What You Bring

• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including automation, deployment workflows, operational reliability, and excellent technical documentation skills.

• Good knowledge of monitoring, resilience, and performance tuning, especially in environments using Oracle databases

• Scripting skills (Ansible, Bash, Python)

• Solid UNIX/Linux expertise with strong troubleshooting abilities across system, application, and infrastructure layers.

• Hands on CI/CD experience, particularly with Azure DevOps, covering build, test, release, and environment governance.

• Experience with modern observability stacks, including logging and monitoring tools such as ELK, Grafana, Zabbix, Kibana, Prometheus.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to quickly diagnose issues and propose effective solutions.

• Familiarity with Scrum and ITIL, comfortable operating within Agile delivery and operational governance frameworks.

• Understanding of both monolithic and microservices architectures, including how they differ from an operational, deployment, and reliability perspective.

• Webservers expertise is mandatory, with hands on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting platforms like JBoss, Apache, and NGINX.
