Introduction

Our Partner is an international technology company that offers a broad portfolio of machines, equipment, software, measuring instruments and service solutions, primarily for the tobacco and food industries. In Hungary, the company is a leader in custom machinery manufacturing, producing complex components, sheet-metal parts and structures, while increasingly focusing on sustainability, automation and digitalization.

Tasks

  • Support with ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) metrics for company-wide ESG reporting (e.g., CSRD, UN Global Compact) as well as for ratings and rankings
  • Support in preparation of the annual corporate greenhouse gas inventory (Scope 1, 2, and 3) in accordance with the GHG Protocol, including coordination of all data providers and, if necessary, external service providers, concept development, briefing, calculation, approval processes, and derivation of improvement measures
  • Coordination with the SBTi, including tracking and reporting on the achievement of our Net-Zero targets
  • Annual definition of system boundaries and documentation of changes
  • Support in the development and maintenance of ESG-relevant KPI systems: conducting gap analyses and developing and implementing strategies to close them
  • Audit-proof documentation
  • Management of ESG data requests (annual and ad-hoc)
  • Support in the implementation of ESG management software and its use for the greenhouse gas inventory and other ESG KPIs
  • Close coordination with the leadership of the company-wide sustainability initiative as well as collaboration with all business units, ESG-relevant departments, external auditors, service providers, and organizations

Expectations

  • Excellent university degree, ideally with a focus on Controlling / Accounting / Sustainability / Environmental Management or Business Administration / Natural / Engineering Sciences with a relevant specialization
  • Several years of professional experience in accounting / controlling / sustainability or environmental management in consulting firms, international industrial companies, or relevant sustainability institutions
  • Proven expertise in several of the following areas: greenhouse gas accounting, decarbonization, ESG KPIs, ESG ratings and rankings, environmental management, circular economy
  • Knowledge of various sustainability standards and guidelines (e.g., CSRD / ESRS, EU Taxonomy, GHG Protocol, SBTi)
  • Excellent project/process management skills are a plus
  • Affinity for software and AI, very good MS Office skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
  • Analytical, independent, and structured working style
  • Confident demeanor, initiative, strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong persuasive and assertive abilities
  • Passion for numbers and sustainability
